The Salem Lady Volleyball Tigers lost to the Cabool Lady Bulldogs in three straight sets Thursday night at Cabool. Salem is now 1-14-2 on the year and 0-2 in the SCA Conference. The Lady Tigers JV will play in the Licking JV Tournament Saturday. The next varsity match will be at St. Clair Monday.

Victor Caratini hit a three-run homer to help Milwaukee beat St. Louis Thursday, 6-0. Blake Perkins also homered for Milwaukee who took three of the four games in the series. The Cards will be in San Diego starting tonight at 9:20 with a delayed broadcast, then Saturday night at 6:45 and Sunday at 2:15 on KSMO.

The Kansas City Royals were off Thursday and start a three game series against the Houston Astros tonight.

The Kansas City Chiefs host the Chicago Bears Sunday at 3:25. The Chiefs are 1-1 on the year.

The Salem 7th and 8th Grade Football Tigers will be at Mountain View Liberty tonight starting at 5:30 with the 7th grade game and the 8th grade game will follow.

The Salem Cross Country Teams will be at Belle for a meet this afternoon.

Josh Donaldson hit a three-run homer and the Milwaukee Brewers beat the St. Louis Cardinals Wednesday, 8-2. The Cards and Brewers play at 11:20 this morning on KSMO.

The Kansas City Royals won their 8th game out of their last nine as the beat the Cleveland Guardians Wednesday, 6-2. The Royals will be off today.

The Salem Lady Volleyball Tigers lost in three straight sets to the Houston Lady Tigers Tuesday night to fall to 1-13-2 on the year. The JV lost in two straight sets while the freshman won their match. Salem will be at Cabool Thursday for a varsity match only at 6:00.

The Salem Freshman Football Tigers lost to Camdenton Monday by the score of 52-6. The Freshman Tigers are 1-1 on the year and will play at Ava on Monday.

The Milwaukee Brewers hit four straight doubles in a four run 4th inning as they beat the St. Louis Cardinals Tuesday night, 7-3. Richie Palacios hit another homer for the Cardinals who face the Brewers again tonight on KSMO at 5:50.

MJ Melendez was red-hot Tuesday against Cleveland, as he had a two-run homer and RBI singles as Kansas City beat the Guardians, 7-6. The Royals and Guardians play today in Kansas City.

Willson Contreras hit a solo homer in the 4th inning and Adam Wainwright earned his 200th career win pitching seven scoreless innings giving up four hits as St. Louis beat Milwaukee, 1-0 Monday night. John King and Ryan Helsley finished the shutout for the win. Wainwright joins Bob Gibson and Jesse Haines as the only St. Louis pitchers with 200 wins. The Cardinals and Brewers play tonight on KSMO at 5:50.

Drew Waters two-run double in the bottom of the 8th put the Kansas City Royals in the lead for the first time as they came back from a 4-1 deficit to beat Cleveland Monday afternoon, 6-4. Nelson Velazquez homered for the Royals who have won five of the last six games. The Royals and Guardians play again tonight.

The Salem Football Tigers and Thayer Bobcats tangled Friday night at Bill Schuchardt Stadium.After a scoreless 1st half, Thayer senior running back Mark Spencer ran for two touchdowns and caught a pass for another to lead the Bobcats to a 26-0 win over the Tigers. Salem falls to 0-4 and 0-2 in the SCA. They will be in Ava Friday night to face the Bears at 7:00.

Due to the low numbers on the Thayer football roster, there is no JV game with Thayer tonight. The Salem Tiger Freshman game with Camdenton WILL BE PLAYED at 5:00 as per Athletic Director Clay Moody.

The Salem Volleyball Lady Tigers went 0-3-1 in the Cabool Invitational Tournament Saturday. Salem lost to Bunker, Houston and Willow Springs and split with Chadwick. Salem is now 1-12-2 on the year. The Lady Tigers will be at Houston Tuesday night to face the Tigers in SCA Conference play starting at 5:30 with the freshmen, then the JV match with the varsity contest to follow.

Harrison Mevis kicked a 61-yard field goal as time expired Saturday as the Missouri Tigers upset #15 Kansas State Saturday at Faurot Field, 30-27. Brady Cook was 23-35 for 356 yards and threw for two touchdowns and ran for another. Missouri moves to 3-0 on the year and will play Memphis State next week in St. Louis. The game will not be heard on KSMO due to St. Louis Cardinals baseball.

Jordan Walker’s two-out homer in the 8th inning gave the St. Louis Cardinals a 6-5 win over
Philadelphia Sunday to salvage one of the three games over the weekend. Paul Goldschmidt also homered and had three RBI in the game. The Cardinals start a four-game series with the Milwaukee Brewers tonight on KSMO at 5:50.

The Houston Astros beat Kansas City Sunday, 7-1 to avoid being swept by the Royals who won Friday night, 4-2, and 10-8 on Saturday night. Kansas City will host the Cleveland Guardians this afternoon to start a three-game series.

The Kansas City Chiefs defense held Jacksonville to three field goals while Patrick Mahomes hit Skyy Moore and Travis Kelce with touchdown passes en route to a 17-9 win. Mahomes was 29-41 for 305 yards. The Chiefs will host the Chicago Bears Sunday at 3:25.

The Salem Volleyball Lady Tigers lost to the Licking Lady Wildcats Thursday night at the SHS gym in three straight games: 13-25, 26-28, and 14-25. Salem falls to 1-9-1 on the season and they will be at the Cabool Invitational Tournament Saturday.

The Salem Football Tigers will host the Thayer Bobcats in SCA Conference play tonight starting at 7:00 at Bill Schuchardt Stadium. Salem enters the game with an 0-3 record and 0-1 in the SCA while Thayer comes into the game with a 1-2 record and 0-1 in the SCA Conference. The Salem 7^th Grade Football Tigers shutout Mountain Grove Thursday night, 28-0 while the 8^th graders also shutout the Panthers, 6-0. The 7^th grade team is 2-0 while the 8^th grade is 1-1.

The Missouri Tigers will host Kansas State at 11:00 Saturday morning from Faurot Field. The Tigers are 2-0 on the year as are the Wildcats. You can hear the game on KSMO Radio.

The St. Louis Cardinals were off Thursday and they begin a three-game series with the Philadelphia Phillies at Busch Stadium tonight. KSMO will delay the broadcast of the game until after Salem Football, then air the games live at 5:20 Saturday and 12:20 Sunday afternoon.

Kansas City had the day off Thursday and will begin a three game series with the Houston Astros tonight.

The Salem Boys Basketball Tigers will be holding a fundraising golf tournament at the Spring Creek Golf Club on Saturday, October 7th starting at 10:00. This tournament is a four person scramble. Mulligans are available as well as on-course games, plus there will be food and soft drinks available. The cost is $200 per team. The Salem Tigers 7th and 8th grade football teams will host Mountain Grove tonight at Bill Schuchardt stadium starting at 5:30 with the 7th grade game with the 8th grade game to follow. The 7th grade Tigers are 1-0 while the 8th graders are 0-1.

There will be a Missouri Trout Fisherman’s Association Tournament this weekend at Montauk State Park. The tournament is open to everyone including visitors. Those who want to participate need to register Friday night from 6:30 to 8:15, or on Saturday morning from 6:30 to 8:00. Anglers entering the tournament will pay an entry fee and prizes will be awarded for tagged fish caught during the derby. Richie Palacios hit a two out 4th inning home run and Drew Rom went 5 1/3rd innings to get his 1st major league win as the St. Louis Cardinals beat the Baltimore Orioles Wednesday night, 1-0 to win the series. The Cards are off today.

Salvador Perez had three hits as Kansas City beat the Chicago White Sox Wednesday, 7-1. The Royals have the day off.

Adam Wainwright earned his 199th career win going five innings and giving up two runs as the St. Louis Cardinals beat the Baltimore Orioles Tuesday night, 5-2. Richie Palacios hit two homers for St. Louis and Paul Goldschmidt also homered in the win. The Cards and Orioles play again today at 4:40 on KSMO.

The Chicago White Sox scored five runs in the 1st inning in the first game of the day Tuesday and went on to beat the Kansas City Royals, 6-2. Bobby Witt, Jr. had three hits for the Royals and scored both runs. Brady Singer took the loss for Kansas City. In the second game, Kansas City led 9-0 after three innings, but the White Sox tied the game with an 8-run 6th inning, but Bobby Witt, Jr’s sacrifice fly in the 9th inning proved to be difference in a Royals 11-10 win. The Royals and White Sox wrap up their series tonight in Chicago.

In JV Football action Monday night at Houston, the Salem JV was shutout by the Houston Tigers, 30-0. The freshman played one half of football and defeated Houston, 16-8. Andrew Harris scored on a three-yard run and Carlnez Head added a two-yard run for the Salem Freshman, while Levi Halbrook and Ryan Halinar teamed up for 2 two-point conversions. The JV will host Thayer Monday at 6:00 while the Freshman will play Camdenton Monday at 5:00 in Salem. The JV is 1-2 on the year and the freshman are 1-0.

Cedric Mullins slugged a grand slam while Gunnar Henderson smacked a solo shot as Baltimore defeated St. Louis Monday, 11-5. Willson Contreras had three hits and two RBI for St. Louis, his 4th straight game with multiple hits and RBI’s. The Cards and Orioles play again tonight at 4:40 on KSMO.

The Kansas City Royal/Chicago White Sox game Monday was postponed due to rain and will be made up today in a split doubleheader on the south side of Chicago.

The Salem Football Tigers fell to the Houston Tigers Friday night by the score of 41-13 in their SCA Conference opener. Kaiden Dubois threw a touchdown pass to Haiden Sanders and ran for another score for Salem. The Tigers fall to 0-3 and 0-1 in the SCA Conference. Salem will host Thayer this Friday night with game time at 7:00.

The Salem Freshman and JV Football Tigers will be at Houston tonight to face the Tigers. The freshman game will begin around 5:30 and the JV game around 6:00. the Salem JV is 1-1 on the year.

Last Thursday in Willow Springs, the 7^th grade Salem Tiger Football Team beat the Bears, 36-0 while the 8^th grade Tiger team fell to the Bears, 32-6. They will be at Mountain Grove Thursday.

The Salem Cross Country Team participated in a meet at Willow Springs Thursday and came in 5^th out of 32 teams. They will be at Steelville this Thursday for their next meet.

Brady Cook threw for two touchdowns and ran in another score as the Missouri Tigers beat Middle Tennessee State Saturday, 23-19. Missouri is 2-0 on the year and they will host Kansas State Saturday morning at 11:00.

The Cincinnati Reds slugged four homers in the game Sunday to salvage a game in the three game series, beating St. Louis, 7-1. The Cardinals have gone 4-2 on this road trip which continues in Baltimore tonight with the game starting at 4:40 on KSMO Radio.

The Kansas City Royals were swept at home by the Toronto Blue Jays as they fell Sunday, 5-2. The Royals will be in Chicago tonight to face the White Sox.
