The Salem Volleyball Lady Tigers lost to the Licking Lady Wildcats Thursday night at the SHS gym in three straight games: 13-25, 26-28, and 14-25. Salem falls to 1-9-1 on the season and they will be at the Cabool Invitational Tournament Saturday.

The Salem Football Tigers will host the Thayer Bobcats in SCA Conference play tonight starting at 7:00 at Bill Schuchardt Stadium. Salem enters the game with an 0-3 record and 0-1 in the SCA while Thayer comes into the game with a 1-2 record and 0-1 in the SCA Conference. You can hear the game on KSMO AM 1340 and FM 95.7 starting at 6:40 with Tiger Talk and Coach Neal Myers. The Salem 7th Grade Football Tigers shutout Mountain Grove Thursday night, 28-0 while the 8th graders also shutout the Panthers, 6-0. The 7th grade team is 2-0 while the 8th grade is 1-1.

The Missouri Tigers will host Kansas State at 11:00 Saturday morning from Faurot Field. The Tigers are 2-0 on the year as are the Wildcats. You can hear the game on KSMO Radio.

The St. Louis Cardinals were off Thursday and they begin a three-game series with the Philadelphia Phillies at Busch Stadium tonight. KSMO will delay the broadcast of the game until after Salem Football, then air the games live at 5:20 Saturday and 12:20 Sunday afternoon.

Kansas City had the day off Thursday and will begin a three game series with the Houston Astros tonight.

The Salem Boys Basketball Tigers will be holding a fundraising golf tournament at the Spring Creek Golf Club on Saturday, October 7th starting at 10:00. This tournament is a four person scramble. Mulligans are available as well as on-course games, plus there will be food and soft drinks available. The cost is $200 per team.
