The Salem Football Tigers and Thayer Bobcats tangled Friday night at Bill Schuchardt Stadium.After a scoreless 1st half, Thayer senior running back Mark Spencer ran for two touchdowns and caught a pass for another to lead the Bobcats to a 26-0 win over the Tigers. Salem falls to 0-4 and 0-2 in the SCA. They will be in Ava Friday night to face the Bears at 7:00.

Due to the low numbers on the Thayer football roster, there is no JV game with Thayer tonight. The Salem Tiger Freshman game with Camdenton WILL BE PLAYED at 5:00 as per Athletic Director Clay Moody.

The Salem Volleyball Lady Tigers went 0-3-1 in the Cabool Invitational Tournament Saturday. Salem lost to Bunker, Houston and Willow Springs and split with Chadwick. Salem is now 1-12-2 on the year. The Lady Tigers will be at Houston Tuesday night to face the Tigers in SCA Conference play starting at 5:30 with the freshmen, then the JV match with the varsity contest to follow.

Harrison Mevis kicked a 61-yard field goal as time expired Saturday as the Missouri Tigers upset #15 Kansas State Saturday at Faurot Field, 30-27. Brady Cook was 23-35 for 356 yards and threw for two touchdowns and ran for another. Missouri moves to 3-0 on the year and will play Memphis State next week in St. Louis. The game will not be heard on KSMO due to St. Louis Cardinals baseball.

Jordan Walker’s two-out homer in the 8th inning gave the St. Louis Cardinals a 6-5 win over
Philadelphia Sunday to salvage one of the three games over the weekend. Paul Goldschmidt also homered and had three RBI in the game. The Cardinals start a four-game series with the Milwaukee Brewers tonight on KSMO at 5:50.

The Houston Astros beat Kansas City Sunday, 7-1 to avoid being swept by the Royals who won Friday night, 4-2, and 10-8 on Saturday night. Kansas City will host the Cleveland Guardians this afternoon to start a three-game series.

The Kansas City Chiefs defense held Jacksonville to three field goals while Patrick Mahomes hit Skyy Moore and Travis Kelce with touchdown passes en route to a 17-9 win. Mahomes was 29-41 for 305 yards. The Chiefs will host the Chicago Bears Sunday at 3:25.
