The Salem Lady Softball Tigers will host Dora this afternoon at 4:30 at the Salem City Park. Salem is 2-6 on the year. That game can be heard on KSMO Radio and the game will be live streamed on ksmoradio.com.
The Salem Lady Volleyball Tigers will be at Willow Springs tonight at 5:30.
Salvador Perez hit two homers and drove in five runs plus Frenchy Cordero hit two homers and drove in four runs as Kansas City blasted St. Louis Wednesday, 12-3. The Cardinals come home for five game series against Milwaukee starting tonight at 6:20 on KSMO Radio.

The Lebanon Lady Yellow Jackets beat the Salem Lady Tigers varsity by the score of 13-3 to drop the Lady Tigers to 2-6 on the year. The JV also lost to Lebanon by the score of 8-2. The Salem Lady Softball Tigers will host Dora tomorrow at the Salem City Park at 4:30.
The senior dominated Lady Bulldogs of Cabool came to Salem and shut down the Volleyball Lady Tigers of Salem in three straight games: 25-10, 25-16 and 25-1. Salem is now 1-8-1 on the year. The Salem Lady Volleyball Tigers will be at Willow Springs Thursday night at 5:30.
Austin Gomber and three other St. Louis pitchers threw a six-hit shutout over Kansas City Tuesday, 5-0. Dylan Carlson had three hits including a single, double and triple as well as driving in two runs to lead the Cards offense. The Cards and Royals wrap up their series tonight at 6:10on KSMO Radio.

The Salem Lady Softball Tigers lost to Ava Monday in a makeup game, 7-1. The Lady Tigers will be at Lebanon this afternoon to face the Lady Yellow Jackets. Game time is set for 4:30.
The Salem Lady Volleyball Tigers will play Cabool to night at the SHS Gym with the JV game at 5:30 with the varsity game to follow. Salem enters the contest with a 1-7-1 record. You can watch the Lady Tiger varsity match on ksmoradio.com starting around 6:45.
Maikel Franco’s 6th inning two-run single off Adam Wainwright proved to be the difference as the Kansas City Royals stopped the St. Louis four game winning streak, beating the Cardinals, 4-1. Matt Carpenter homered for the only St. Louis run. The Cards and Royals will play again tonight at 6:10 on KSMO Radio.

The Salem Football Tigers will travel to Thayer to face the Bobcats in SCA Conference play tonight at 7:00. Salem is 2-1 on the year while the Bobcats are also 2-1 on the year, but they have had two straight shutouts. The Salem Lady Softball Tigers got their first win of the year at Cuba Thursday, beating the Lady Wildcats, 8-3. the JV also won by the score of 15-6. The Lady Varsity Tigers are now 1-2 on the year. The Lady Tigers will be back at Cuba Saturday for the Cuba Invitational Tournament.
The Salem Lady Volleyball Tigers game with Licking Thursday night was cancelled and no makeup date has been set. The Lady Tigers will participate in the Cabool Tournament Saturday.
The St. Louis Cardinal could only muster two hits and Gregory Polanco’s three-run homer in the 4th inning would bell Pittsburgh would need as they beat the Cardinals, 5-1. Dakota Hudson left the in the 2nd inning with elbow soreness. The Cardinals will have another doubleheader tonight as they will play the Pirates. You can hear the first game on KSMO starting at 3:05. KSMO will then broadcast the Salem Football game and play the second game of the double header after the Salem Football game is over.
The Kansas City Royals who were off Thursday will start a three game series with the Milwaukee Brewers tonight.

The Salem Lady Softball Tigers will be at Cuba this afternoon at 4:30 to face the Lady Wildcats. Salem enters the game with an 0-2 record.
The Salem Lady Volleyball Tigers will travel to Licking to face the Licking Lady Wildcats starring at 5:30 with the JV contest with the varsity match to follow. Salem is 0-4 on the year.
The Salem Middle School Football Tigers will be at Mountain Grove this afternoon at 5:30.
Adam Wainwright pitched a complete game as the Cardinals won Game 1 of the doubleheader, 4-2, giving up just four hits. In Game 2, Ryan Braun hit a three-run first inning homer and Milwaukee shutout St. Louis, 6-0. The Cardinals will be at Pittsburgh to face the Pirates tonight starting at 5:10 on KSMO.
Salvador Perez hit a two-run homer and doubled home another while Brady Singer threw six shutout innings as Kansas City beat Detroit, 4-0 Wednesday night . The Kansas City Royals will have the day off today.

The Steelville Cross Country Invitational for middle school and high schools scheduled for Thursday has been postponed. No makeup date has been announced.
The Milwaukee Brewers scored seven runs in the 4th inning and then added six more in the 5th inning en route to blasting the St. Louis Cardinals, 18-3 Tuesday night. Jack Flaherty could not get an out of the 4th inning and gave up 9 earned runs in three innings of work.
The Cardinals and Brewers play another double-header today starting at 3:15 on KSMO Radio.
The Kansas City Royals six-game winning streak ended Tuesday night with a 6-0 loss to the Detroit Tigers. Whit Merrifield and Salvador Perez each had two hits for the Royals who will play in Detroit again tonight.

The Salem Lady Volleyball Tigers lost to the Lady Zizzers of West Plains in three straight games Monday night. Salem is now 0-4 on the year. The Lady Tigers game with Potosi scheduled for tonight has been postponed to a later date. The Lady Tigers play at Licking Thursday night at 5:30.
Waynesville scored six runs in the 2nd inning and another five runs in the 7th inning to beat the Salem Lady Softball Tigers, 14-2. Savannah Manthey homered for Salem as they will be at Cuba Thursday night to face the Lady Wildcats.
The Milwaukee Brewers scored two runs in the bottom of the 8th inning in Game 1 to beat the Cardinals, 2-1. In the second game, Paul DeJong’s RBI single in the 9th inning gave the Cards a 3-2 win. The Red Birds and Brewers play tonight at 5:45.
The Royals had Monday off and will face the Detroit Tigers tonight.

Caden Camden scored twice in the 3rd quarter on runs of 16 and 14 yards respectively as the Salem Tigers came from behind and beat Houston Friday night, 20-14 in SCA Conference play. Camden finished with 146 yards rushing on 19 carries in the game. Salem’s other touchdown came on a Garrett Connell fumble recovery and return of 72 yards in the 1st quarter. Salem is now 2-1 on the year and 1-0 in the SCA Conference. They will be at Thayer Friday night.
The Salem JV Football game with Houston tonight has been cancelled due to a Houston player being diagnosed with COVID-19 and his teammates being quarantined.

Cincinnati hit three home runs in the game and scored three runs on one hit in the 7th inning to take the lead en route to a 10-5 win over St. Louis Sunday. The Cardinals will play a double header today at Milwaukee starting at 3:15 today. You can hear both games on KSMO.
Kansas City scored 10 runs by the 3rd inning and cruised to an 11-0 win over Pittsburgh Sunday as they swept the series form the Pirates and have now won six games in a row. The Royals have the day off today.

The Salem Lady Softball Tigers lost to Vienna Thursday, 16-8 after scoring seven runs in the top of the 1st inning. The JV also lost Thursday, 3-2. The Lady Tigers will host Waynesville Monday at 4:30.
St. Louis scored seven runs in the 3rd inning and banged out five homers in Game 1 as they beat Detroit, 12-2. Tyler O’Neil, Yadier Molina, Paul Goldschmidt, Lane Thomas and Rangel Rivero all homered for the Cardinals as Jack Flaherty got the win. In Game 2, Detroit scored five runs in the top of the 7th inning to beat the Cardinals, 6-3. Tommy Edmon homered for St. Louis in Game 2. The Cardinals start a three game series with the Cincinnati Reds tonight. That game will be delayed until after Tiger Football on KSMO
Adalberto Modesi and Maikel Franco each hit 3-run homers and Brady Singer no-hit Cleveland for 7 innings as the Kansas City Royals beat the Indians, 11-1. The Royals start a three game series with Pittsburgh tonight in Kansas City.
Patrick Mahommes threw three touchdown passes as the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Houston Texans Thursday night, 34-20. The Chiefs will face the San Diego Chargers on Sunday, September 20th at 3:25.

The Salem Softball Tigers will open their season at Vienna this afternoon starting at 5:00.
The Salem Middle School will host the Willow Springs Bears in 7th and 8th grade football action today at 5:30 in the first game of the year.
The Cardinals will play in another double-header today as they will host the Detroit Tigers starting at 12:20. You can hear both games on KSMO Radio. St. Louis is currently in 2nd place in the National League Central Division three games back of the Chicago Cubs.
Four Royal pitchers combined for a six-hit shutout as Kansas City beat the Cleveland Indians, 3-0. Danny Duffy got the win going 5 2/3rds innings giving up four of the six hits. Alberto Mondesi’s RBI single in the 6th inning would be all the runs the Royals would need. Nicky Lopez had three hits for Kansas City and drove in a run. The Royals and Indians wrap up their series tonight in Cleveland.
