The Salem Football Tigers lost to the St. James Tigers in District play Monday night at St. James, 43-0. Carter Wilfong and Blaine Noakes each scored two touchdowns for St. James who will play at Mountain Grove this Friday night. Salem ends the year with a 1-9 record.

The City of Salem Youth League Basketball and Cheerleader signups are being held now through November 6th for boys and girls in 1st through the 6th grades. The cost of basketball is $35 and the cost for cheerleader is $45. There will be an additional $10 late fee for those who register after November 6th and no registrations will be accepted after November 13th. Practices will begin in December and games will be held in January. The Salem Football Tigers district football game Friday at St. James was postponed due to the passing of Ethan Parrott of St. James in a Friday morning vehicle accident. Parrott was an offensive lineman and nose guard for the team. The game was rescheduled for tonight at St. James at 6:00. Quinn Hughes scored twice as the Vancouver Canucks shut out St. Louis Friday night, 5-0. The Blues will be in Colorado Wednesday night to face the Avalanche at 7:45. You can hear the game on KSMO AM 1340 and FM 95.7.

The St. Louis Blues have announced the players who will be inducted into the St. Louis Blues 2024 Hall of Fame at the Enterprise Center. Those are forwards Keith Tkachuk, the late Pavol Demitra and goaltender Mike Liut.

Kansas City committee a total of five turnovers including two fumbles, two interceptions and a muffed punt as they lost to the Denver Broncos Sunday, 24-9. Harrison Butker had three field goals for the Chiefs who will be in Germany Sunday to play the Miami Dolphins in a game that will be aired at 8:30 Sunday morning. The Chiefs are 6-2 on the year.

A Texas County Judge Thursday ruled MSHSAA went too far in forfeiting Houston’s District win over Licking Monday over a rule violation and granted a restraining order that reinstated their district championship and allowed the Lady Tigers to play Stover Thursday night, but Houston lost in four sets, 3-1. Houston was eliminated from the state tournament.

The Kansas City Chiefs will be at Denver Sunday at 3:25. The Chiefs are 6-1 on the year.

The Houston Lady Volleyball Tigers were forced to forfeit their Class 2, District 8 title following an investigation by MSHSAA. Upon review, the district learned that three members of the Houston High School Volleyball Team participated in the Salem Memorial Hospital Mammography “Volley For A Cure” co-ed volleyball tournament this past Saturday. Their involvement unknowingly violated MSHSAA bylaw 3.13.2.a: “Organized Non-School Competition in the Same Season/Same Sport.” Despite an immediate appeal by the district, MSHSAA ruled the Houston athletes that participated in the fundraiser were ineligible to play in the Class 2 District 8 championship volleyball match Monday when Houston beat Licking. According to MSHSAA bylaw 1.2.3.a; “Minimal Penalties – Team Sports,” Houston must forfeit its victory and district championship title, disqualifying the team from advancing in the Class 2 State Volleyball Tournament. The Licking Lady Wildcats play Stover tonight at 7:00 in the Sectionals.

The St. Louis Blues lost to the Winnipeg Jest Tuesday night by the score of 4-2 to start a four-game road trip. Pavel Buchnevich and Robert Thomas scored for St. Louis who fall to 2-2-1 on the year. The Blues will be in Calgary Thursday night at 7:30 on KSMO and Friday night, they will be in Vancouver at 9:30.

The Salem Football Tigers fell to the Cabool Bulldogs Friday night, 56-13 to finish the regular season with a 1-8 record. Carter Degon scored on a one-yard run and Tobey Gover scored on a fumble recovery in the end zone. Salem is seeded 6th in districts for their first district game Friday night against the St. James Tigers who Salem lost to in the first game of the year, 44-0. The Missouri Football Tigers built a 24-3 lead at the half and then held on to beat the South Carolina Gamecocks Saturday afternoon, 34-12. Cody Schrader ran the ball 26 times for 159 yards and two touchdowns. Missouri is now 7-1 and they have this Saturday off before traveling to Georgia November 4th.

Brandon Saad scored two goals as the St. Louis Blues beat the Pittsburgh Penguins Saturday night, 4-2. The Blues also got goals from Colton Parayko and Jake Neighbours as they will begin a four-game road trip starting in Winnipeg Tuesday night at 7:00 on KSMO Radio.

Patrick Mahommes was 32-42 passing for 424 yards and four touchdowns as the Kansas City Chiefs won their sixth straight game, 31-17 over the Los Angeles Chargers Sunday. The Chiefs will be at Denver Sunday afternoon. KC is 6-1 on the year.

The St. Louis Blues lost to the Arizona Coyotes Thursday night at the Enterprise Center, 6-2. Blues goals were scored by Sammy Blais and Jakub Vrana who also had an assist. The Blues will host the Pittsburgh Penguins Saturday night at 6:30 on KSMO.
