Vouchers for this Friday’s game against Cabool are available at the high school office. Vouchers are distributed on a first come, first serve basis.

NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman said the National Hockey League is targeting January 1st, 2021 as the start date for the 2020-21 season. Bettman stressed that the start date could be moved if necessary. No training camp dates have yet been set by the league.

The Salem Lady Volleyball Tigers lost to Houston in three straight games while the JV lost to Houston in two straight. The Volleyball district for Class 3, District 10 will begin next Monday as Salem will face the Mountain Grove Lady Panthers at 4:30 at the Mountain Grove Gym. Salem is seeded 4th in the tournament. Should the Lady Tigers win, they would play the Mountain View-Liberty Lady Eagles Monday night at 7:30 at Mountain Grove. Salem is 3-21-3 on the year.

The Salem Lady Softball Tigers placed two girls on the Class, District 3 All District Team and two more on the All District 2nd team. Named to the All-District Team were catcher Denise Stoner and outfielder Chloe Bonner while infielders Ashton Bowers and Savannah Manthey were named to the All District 2nd Team. Congratulations ladies on a fine season!

The Salem Lady Volleyball Tigers will finish up their regular season tonight against Houston starting at 5:30 at the SHS gym. Salem is 3-20-3 on the year.

The Salem Football Tigers lost to Mountain View-Liberty Friday night, 32-28. Garrett Connell threw 3 touchdown passes and Caden Camden rushed for 155 yards and a score, but a failed two-point conversion and safety proved to be the difference in the game. Salem is 4-4 on the year and will play Cabool Friday night at 7:00. Vouchers for Friday’s game are available at the high school office after noon today.

The Salem Lady Softball Tigers lost to Sullivan Friday in the Class 3, District 3 Championship game, 12-0 taking 2nd in the district. Salem finished the year 14-9 on the year. Great job!

The Salem Lady Volleyball Varsity went 0-2-1 in the Sparta Tournament Saturday, splitting with Ash Grove and losing to Miller and Billings. Salem is 3-20-3 on the year.

The Salem Football Tigers will host Mountain View-Liberty tonight at 7:00 at the SHS Football Field. Salem enters the game with a 4-3 record and 3-2 in the SCA Conference. The Eagles come into the game with a 5-2 record and 4-1 in the SCA. Vouchers for the game are available at the high school office on a first come, first serve basis. The game can be heard on KSMO or you can watch the video stream of the game on ksmoradio.com/twitch.tv or at salemr80.org.

The Salem Lady Softball Tigers beat Owensville in 8 innings, 9-5 in the District Semi-final and will face the Sullivan Lady Eagles today at 5:00 in the District Championship. The cost of admission is $5.00 for anyone six years of age and older. Salem is 14-8 on the year.

The Salem Lady Volleyball Varsity Tigers fell in three games at Ava Thursday night while the JV lost in three games. The Lady Volleyball Tigers will participate in the Sparta High School Invitational tomorrow. The JV will play in the Mountain View JV Invitational Saturday.
The Salem varsity is 3-18 and 2 on the year.

The St. Louis Blues have agreed to terms with defenseman Torey Krug to a 7-year contract worth $45.5 million. The 29-year old Krug has spent his entire National Hockey League career with the Boston Bruins. He has played in 523 NHL games while recording 337 points (67 goals, 270 assists). Krug was signed to replace Alex Pietrangelo who signed with Las Vegas as a free agent.

The Vanderbilt at Missouri football game this Saturday has been postponed and has been tentatively rescheduled for December 12th.

The Salem Lady Softball Tigers defeated St. James in Class 3, District 3 play Wednesday, 17-5. Salem improves to 13-8 on the year and they will play Owensville today at 6:00. There is a $5.00 admission fee at the gate. Should Salem win, they would play in Sullivan Friday afternoon at 5:00 for the District Championship.

The Salem Lady Volleyball Varsity Tigers lost to Willow Springs Wednesday night in three straight games while the JV won in two straight games. The Lady Volleyball Tigers will be at Ava tonight at 5:30 to face the Lady Bears in SCA Conference play. Salem is 3-17 and 2 on the year.

The Salem Lady Softball Tigers are seeded #4 in Class 3, District 3 and they will play the #5 seed Cuba Lady Wildcats this afternoon at Sullivan against Cuba at 3:30. There will be a $5.00 admission fee. Should Salem win, they would play Sullivan Thursday afternoon at 4:30 at Sullivan.

The Salem Lady Volleyball Tigers lost to Mountain Grove Tuesday night in a hard fought match, 3 games to 2. The Lady Tigers will be at Willow Springs tonight and at Ava Thursday night at 5:30 to face the Lady Bears.

Don’t forget to pick up your vouchers for this Friday nights Salem Tiger football game against Mountain View. They are available at the high school office.

The Vanderbilt at Missouri football game this Saturday has been postponed due to positive tests and subsequent quarantining of individuals within the Vanderbilt football program. The postponement is consistent with Southeastern Conference COVID-19 management requirements. The game has been tentatively rescheduled for December 12th at Missouri.

The Salem Lady Softball Tigers beat East Carter Monday by the score of 10-5 to go to 12-8 on the year. The #4 seed Lady Tigers will play the #5 seed Cuba Lady Wildcats in District play beginning Wednesday afternoon at Sullivan against Cuba at 3:30.

The Salem Lady Volleyball Tigers beat Plato in three straight games Monday and are 3-15-2 on the year. The JV also won Monday in two straight games. Salem will host Mountain Grove tonight at the SHS gymnasium starting at 5:30. If attending tonight’s game the vouchers must be picked up by noon at the high school office.

The Salem Football Tigers scored in the 4th quarter, then held off the Panthers last gasp by intercepting a pass in the end zone with six seconds left to seal a 21-14 win. Salem improves to 4-3 on the year and 3-2 in the SCA Conference. The Tigers will host Mountain View-Liberty this Friday night at 7:00 at the SHS Field. Football vouchers for this Friday’s game will not be available till noon on today.

The Salem Lady Softball Tigers blasted Alton Friday, 15-6 to improve to 11-8 on the year. The Lady Tigers have won 9 of their last ten games. The JV also won Friday, 3-2. The Lady Softball Tigers will be at East Carter this afternoon for their final make-up game before District play begins Wednesday afternoon at Sullivan against Cuba at 3:30.

The Salem Lady Volleyball Tigers will host Plato tonight and Mountain Grove tomorrow night at the SHS gymnasium. Both matches will begin at 5:30. Vouchers for the Volleyball Games for today and tomorrow are available in the High School office! If attending tonight’s game the vouchers must be picked up by noon.

The Missouri and LSU Tigers had a shootout Saturday in the game moved to Columbia due to Hurricane Delta with Missouri outlasting LSU in a 45-41 win for their first win of the year.
Quarterback Connor Bazelak threw four touchdown passes to four different receivers including a five-yard TD pass to Niko Hea with 5:08 seconds left in the 4th quarter that proved to be the game winner. Bazelak was 29-0f 34 for 406 yards. Larry Roundtree had 18 carrries for 121 for Missouri to lead all rushers in the game. Missouri is 1-2 on the year and they will host Vanderbilt Saturday at 5:30 on KSMO.

Derek Carr threw three touchdown passes and finished the game with 347 yards in passing and the Las Vegas Raiders defense blanketed Kansas City in the second half as the Raiders beat the Chiefs at Arrowhead, 40-32. Patrick Mahomes threw for two TD’s but also his first interception of the year totaling 340 yards. The Chiefs are are 4-1 and they play Buffalo Thursday night.

The Salem Football Tigers will be at Mountain Grove tonight to face the Panthers. Salem enters the game with a 3-3 record while Mountain Grove is 2-4. The game will be video streamed with ambient sound starting at 7:00 at ksmoradio.com/twitch.tv.

The Salem Lady Softball Tigers shutout Union Thursday at the Salem City Park, 9-0 and the JV also won, 9-1. Salem is now 10-8 on the year.
The Lady Tigers will make up a game with Alton this afternoon at the Salem City Park at 4:30.

The Salem Lady Volleyball Tigers will be at Licking this weekend in the Licking Tournament. On Wednesday, Salem fell to Potosi in three straight games in a make up match.

The Missouri Football Tigers will host #17 ranked LSU Tigers Saturday as the game has been moved to Columbia and will begin at 11:00 in the morning due to the pending impact of Hurricane Delta on Louisiana. You can hear the pre-game show on KSMO Radio at 10:00. Missouri is 0-2 on the year.
