Braiden Gapsch scored 11 of his 14 points in the 4th quarter to help lead the Salem Tigers past the St. Clair Bulldogs on Senior Night Tuesday night at the SHS Gym, 50-41. Landon Richter scored 13 points for the Tigers who also got 11 points form Tre Richter. Salem improves to 13-12 on the year and they wrap up their regular season Friday night in the Homecoming game against Ava with the festivities between the JV and varsity games.
The Salem Boys Basketball JV won their 20th game of the year as they beat St. Clair, 40-31. The Tigers play Ava Friday at 6:00 and go for their second straight year of sweeping the SCA Conference as they are 6-0 in conference play.
The Missouri Tigers fell to Tennessee Tuesday, 72-67 and have lost 13 games in a row. Sean East had 24 points and Noah Carter followed with 20 as Missouri remains winless in the SEC Conference. They will be at Arkansas Saturday morning at 10:30.

The Salem Boys Basketball will host St. Clair tonight at 5:30 at the SHS Gym starting with the JV game followed by the varsity contest. Salem is 12-12 overall while St. Clair is 6-16 going into the game. William Nylander’s shorthanded goal proved to be the difference as the Toronto Maple Leafs beat St. Louis Monday afternoon, 4-2. Torey Krug and Brendon Saad scored for St. Louis who have lost two straight at home. The Blues will host the NY Islanders Thursday night on KSMO.
The Missouri Tigers will host Tennessee tonight at 5:30. That game will NOT be heard on KSMO due to Salem Tigers basketball. Missouri has lost 12 games in-a-row and are 8-17 on the year. Missouri is 0-12 in the SEC Conference.
The St. Louis Cardinals first preseason game will be this Saturday against the Miami Marlins. KSMO will delay the broadcast until 6:30.

The Salem Boys Basketball Tigers Homecoming game with Ava Friday night was postponed due to adverse weather conditions and rescheduled for this Friday night at 6:00. The JV will start at that time with the varsity game to follow. Tomorrow night, Salem will host St. Clair at 5:30 at the SHS Gym starting with the JV game followed by the varsity contest. Salem is 12-12 overall while St. Clair was 6-16 going into the game. The game can be heard live on KSMO Radio and video streamed on KSMO Media starting around 6:45 with Tiger Talk and Coach Jared Patterson.
In the seed meetings held Saturday, the Salem Lady Basketball Tigers have been seeded 6th in the Class 4, District 3 Tournament, while the boys have been seeded 4th in the tournament. The girls’ tournament will be held at the St. Francis Borgia High School Gym begin Monday, February 26th with the St. Clair and Sullivan game followed by Salem vs Borgia at 7:00. The Class 4, District 3 boys tournament will be held at St. James starting Tuesday, February 27th with Salem facing the host St. James Tigers at 5:30. Admission will be $6.00 for anyone six years of age and older for the day at both locations.
Tuesday is the last day to sign up your child for the City of Salem Youth Soccer Program for $45 per child. Planned age divisions are four and under, six and under, eight and under, ten and under, 12 and under and 14 and under. The divisions may have to be combined depending upon participation. Jordan Kyrou and Nathan Walker scored for St. Louis Saturday but it was not enough as the Blues dropped a 5-2 decision to Nashville. The Blues will play today at noon against the Toronto Maple Leafs. The pregame show begins at 11:30 on KSMO Radio. The Blues have won seven of their last ten games.
The Missouri Tigers dropped a close 79-76 contest at Ole Miss on Saturday night. Sean East II led the Tigers in scoring with 25 points followed by Tamar Bates who added a dozen points. Jordan Butler and Aidan Shaw each had 10 points for Missouri who have now lost 12 straight games. They will host Tennessee Tuesday night. That game will NOT be heard on KSMO due to Salem Tigers basketball.

The Lady Basketball Tigers regular season ended last night at the SHS Gym with a 35-25 win over the Ava Lady Bears. Salem was led in scoring by Addison Fulton who had 12 points. Salem finished the regular season with a 6-20 record and 3-4 in the SCA Conference. The seed meeting for the District playoffs will be held Saturday. The Lady Tigers will play on Monday, February 26th at St. Francis Borgia against an opponent yet to be determined.

Six different St. Louis players scored as the Blues beat the Edmonton Oilers Thursday night in St. Louis, 6-3. Robert Thomas and Jake Neighbours had a goal and two assists while Jordan Kyrou, Torey Krug, Brendon Saad and Pavel Buchnevich scored for the Blues who face Nashville Saturday afternoon at 4:00. The pregame show begins at 3:30 on KSMO.

The Salem JV Tigers beat the Mountain Grove Panther JV Tuesday night by the score of 50-47 to improve to 19-3 on the year. They will play the Ava JV Friday night at 6:00.
The Salem Varsity Lady Basketball Tigers, after losing Monday to Mountain Grove by the score of 68-38, ended their nine game losing streak with a 67-54 win at Cabool Tuesday night in the makeup game. The Salem varsity is 11-12 on the year and 2-3 in the SCA Conference. The Panthers enter the game with an 11-10 record and 3-2 in the SCA Conference. The St. Louis Blues will be in Toronto tonight to face the Maple Leafs. The game will be delayed on KSMO Radio (AM 1340 and 95.7 FM) due to Salem Basketball until 9:00. The Blues have won five straight road games and seven of their last ten games, and they sit in the last “wild card” playoff slot.

The Salem Boys Basketball JV, coming off a hard fought 50-44 win Friday night at Mountain View, won the Bourbon JV Tournament Saturday by beating Owensville in the semi-final game, 60-44; then beating Steelville in the championship game, 51-37. The JV Tigers are 18-3 and will be at Mountain Grove Tuesday.
Terrell Gaines scored 32 points and carter Pruett added 16 more as Mountain View beat Salem Friday night, 70-57. Landon Richter netted 14 points for Salem followed by Haiden Sanders with 12. Salem falls to 11-12 on the year and 2-3 in the SCA Conference. They will be at Mountain Grove Tuesday night.

The Missouri Tigers lost to Mississippi State Saturday, 75-51 for their for their 11th straight loss as they fall to 8-16 on the year. They will off until Saturday when they play at Ole Miss.
Jordan Kyrou scored two goals on Sunday, including his 100th career goal, as St. Louis beat Montreal, 7-2. Jake Neighbours scored twice Saturday as the Blues defeated Buffalo, 3-1. They will be in Toronto Tuesday night.
Patrick Mahomes rolled right and floated a short pass to a wide open wide Mecole Hardman in the end zone as Kansas City beat the San Francisco 49er’s, 25-22 in overtime to win their second straight Superbowl. Mahomes was named the MVP of the Superbowl.

Abby Kreitner scored 22 points to lead the Steelville Lady Cardinals to come-from-behind 43-39 win over Salem Thursday night. Fayth Kominski had 20 points and 12 rebounds for Salem who falls to 4-19 with the loss. Salem led 34-28 after three quarters, but the Steelville press allowed them to go on a 12-0 run en route to outscoring Salem 15-5 in the 4th quarter. The Lady Tigers will be at Mountain Grove Monday night in SCA Conference play starting with the JV contest followed by the varsity match.
The Salem Varsity Boys Basketball Tigers will be at Mountain View-Liberty to face the Eagles in an SCA Conference match. Salem enters the game with a 2-2 conference record and 11-11 overall. Mountain View is 14-7 on the year and 4-0 in the SCA Conference. The game will be on heard on KSMO Radio and will be audio streamed on KSMO Media.
The Salem JV Boys Basketball Tigers will play at Mountain View-Liberty tonight at 6:00, and then play tomorrow morning at 11:30 against Owensville in the Bourbon JV Tournament. The winner of that game will play in the Bourbon Tournament championship game at 3:15 Saturday afternoon. The loser will play in the 3rd place game at 2:00 Saturday. Salem goes into the game tonight at Mountain View with a 15-3 record.
