The Salem Boys Basketball Tigers fell to St. James Friday afternoon at the St. James Tournament by the score 71-56. Gunnar Konkel led Salem in scoring with 18 points followed by Bryson May with 15 points and Trethan Rictor with 10 more. Salem is now 5-13 and they will play at Steelville Tuesday with the JV game at 6:00 followed by the varsity contest. You can hear the varsity game on KSMO Radio AM 1340 and 95.7 FM at around 7:15 with Tiger Talk and Coach Jared Patterson.

The Salem Lady Basketball Tigers will be off until Thursday night when they will be at Sullivan to play the Lady Eagles. Salem is 10-9 on the year and 3-0 in the SCA Conference.

On Saturday, Alabama had a ten point lead at halftime, then started the second half with a 10-2 run and the Missouri Tigers could not recover falling to the Crimson Tide Saturday, 85-64. The Tigers were without Kobe Brown who tweaked an ankle Wednesday night. Isiah Mosley led Missouri with 19 points followed by DeAndre Gholston with ten points. Missouri is 14-5 overall and 3-4 in the SEC Conference. Missouri will be at Ole Miss Tuesday evening. That game will NOT be heard on KSMO due to Salem Tiger Basketball.

The St. Louis Blues fell behind 4-1 early in the 2nd period to the Chicago Blackhawks Saturday night on just ten shots against and never could recover, losing to Chicago, 5-3. Jordan Kyrou, Nick Leddy and Ivan Barbashev all scored for the Blues who will host Buffalo Tuesday night. The game start time will be delayed until 9:00 on KSMO Radio due to Salem Tiger Basketball.

Travis Kelce scored on touchdown passes from Patrick Mahomes and Chad Henne after Mahomes was injured to help lead Kansas City to a 27-20 win over Jacksonville Saturday. A lost fumble at the three-yard line by the Jaguars’ Jamal Agnew on a late 4th quarter drive trying to score was too much for Jacksonville to overcome. The Chiefs will host Cincinnati Sunday evening.
