The Salem Lady Volleyball Tigers Varsity lost in two straight games to Plato Monday night by the scores of 25-14 and 25-11. The JV won their match in two straight games winning 25-17 and 25-21. Salem will be at Houston tonight at 6:00 to face the Lady Tigers. The JV game will be first followed by the varsity match.

The Salem Lady Softball Tigers will be at Sullivan tomorrow at 4:30 to face the St. James Lady Tigers in the first round the Class 3, District 9 Tournament. Salem enters the game with a 13-10 record. Admission to the game this year is $5.00 for everyone six years of age and above. The game can be heard on KSMO Radio, online at ksmoradio.com and on Fidelity Local 6.

The Kansas City Chiefs remained the NFL’s only unbeaten team, with rookie kicker Harrison Butker’s third field goal of the game lifting K.C. to a 29-20 win over the Washington Redskins. Butker, making his NFL debut, connected on a 43-yard field goal with four seconds remaining, breaking a 20-20 tie. Linebacker Justin Houston returned a fumble for a 13-yard touchdown on the last play of the game to account for the final margin. Rookie Kareem Hunt powered Kansas City with 101 yards rushing on 21 carries. Alex Smith completed 27 of 37 passes for 293 yards and one touchdown. The Chiefs will be at Houston Sunday night.
