The Salem JV Football Tigers lost to Cabool Tuesday at the SHS Football Field, 12-0. The Salem JV is 1-1 on the year after beating St. James last week, 16-6. They will be home Monday to face Houston at 6:00.

The Salem Lady Softball Tigers stranded nine runners in scoring position with two outs and fell to the Ava Lady Bears by the score of 3-1. Now 0-3 on the year, the Lady Tigers will be at Vienna Thursday at 5:00.

The Salem Volleyball Tigers will host Bunker again on Thursday night with the varsity game at 6:00 with the JV game to follow.

Marcell Ozuna’s first multi-homer game for the Cardinals and Yadier Molina’s grand slam in the 9th inning helped lift them to an 11-8 win at Nationals Park. Paul DeJong and Patrick Wisdom also homered for the Cardinals who will be at Washington again this afternoon at 5:10.

Danny Duffy lasted only 2/3rds of an inning giving up three runs and the Cleveland Indians put an end to the Royals six game winning streak with a 9-3 win over Kansas City. Alex Gordon homered for the Royals who will play the Indians this afternoon in Cleveland in the rubber game of the three game set.
