The Salem Lady Volleyball Tigers improved to 2-0 in the SCA Conference with a win over the Houston Tigers Tuesday night at the Salem High School Gym in three straight games: 25-20, 25-21 and 25-22. Unofficially, Addison Fulton led Salem with 15 kills during the match and Reagan Dubois finished with a total of 13 service points. Salemis now 5-10-2 on the year and they will host the Cabool Lady Bulldogs in SCA play Thursday night at the SHS Gym beginning at 5:30 with the JV contest followed by the varsity match. The game will NOT be carried on KSMO Media due to the Salem Tiger Football game with Ava Thursday night.
The Salem Lady JV Tigers beat Houston in three games Tuesday night at the SHS Gym, losing the first contest, 25-20, before winning the second and third games by the scores of 25-21 and 25-22. The JV Lady Tigers are 3-2 on the year and they will play Cabool Thursday night at 5:30.
The Salem Tiger 8th grade football team played the Mountain View Liberty Eagles last night and dispatched the Eagles in a 52-8 victory.
The 7th grade Salem Tigers played the Rolla Bulldogs last night and shut them out 36-0.
The St Louis Blues face the Blue Jackets of Columbus tonight at 6:00. This is their third preseason game of seven, before starting the regular season October 8th against Seattle.
The Kansas City Royals played the Washington Nationals yesterday and in a scoreless regular game the Royals would go on to score the lone run of the night at the top of the tenth inning beating the Nationals, 1-0. They’ll play game two of three tonight at 5:45.
The St. Louis Cardinals played the first of three games versus the Colorado Rockies in Denver last night. It was a close game through seven innings but then Walker, Scott and Winn blew the game wide open with back-to-back-to-back RBIs in the top of the eighth breaking the tie and helping the Cards onto a 7-3 victory. Game two is tonight at 7:40 and you can listen to this game live on KSMO 1340 AM, 95.7 FM, with the pregame show starting at 6:45.
