The Annual Missouri Trout Fisherman’s Association Derby will be held this Saturday and Sunday at Montauk State Park near Salem. Registration will be held at the Montauk Lodge starting Friday evening at 6:15 until close, then Saturday from 6:45 until 8:00 in the morning. Rules are available at registration as well as on the website. The Derby hours are Saturday from 7:30 in the morning until Sunday morning at 11:30. There are 100 tagged fish that will be released, with a lot of cool prizes to be claimed! Everyone is welcome to participate. The Salem Lady Volleyball Tigers fell to the Potosi Lady Trojans last night 3-0. The Lady Tigers fall to 2-8-1 on the season as they look to get back on track versus Ava tomorrow night at 7:00.
The St. Louis Cardinals hosted the Pittsburgh Pirates last night and after an early home run by the Pirates the Cards responded with a Luken Baker RBI and Jordan Walker home run, going up 2-1. By the end of 9 the Cardinals are back above .500 with a 3-1 victory. Game three is tonight, with pregame beginning at 5:50. You can listen to this live on KSMO 1340 AM & 95.7 FM.
The Kansas City Royals and the Detroit Tigers played their second game of three last night. The Tigers took the early lead in the first only to see the Royals score in the third inning, locking the game up at 1 a piece. It would take extra innings for Detroit to break the tie by two, the Royals were unable to respond and lost, 3-1. These two teams will finish up the series tonight at 6:40.
