The Salem Lady Volleyball Tigers came back from a 24-21 deficit to win the first game of the match with Eminence, 27-25; but the Lady Red Wings won the next three games by the scores of 25-19, 25-22 and 25-22. Addison Fulton unofficially finished with 21 kills in the four games. Salem is now 1-3 on the year and will be at Owensville Thursday starting with the freshman game at 4:45, the JV game at 5:30 and varsity match at 7:00. 

The Salem JV Lady Volleyball Tigers split the two sets that were played against the JV Eminence Lady Redwings. Salem lost the first set, 16-25; and won the second set, 25-23.

The Salem 7th and 8th grade football season will begin Thursday night against Willow Springs starting with the 7th grade game at 5:30 followed by the 8th grade game at 7:00 at the SHS Football Field.

The St. Louis Cardinals lost to Cincinnati in game one of the series, last night by a score of 3-0. Their next game will be this evening with the pregame show starting at 5:50. You can listen to this game live on KSMO 1340 AM & 95.7 FM.

The Kansas City Royals shut out the Yankees, last night by a score of 5-0. Seth Lugo, a front-runner for the American League Cy Young Award ended up pitching seven frames, allowing only three hits and striking out ten batters. In the fifth inning, Salvador Perez drove in his 100th run of the season. This marked the second time Perez has reached the RBI Century mark in his career. Kansas City will hold the second AL Wildcard spot, three games ahead of the Minnesota Twins. The Royals will be looking for another win over the Yankees in game three, tonight at 6:05.
