The Salem Park and Recreation Department is offering Youth Basketball and Cheer signups for those boys and girls in the 1st through 6th grades. Registration will be held now through November 16th and the charge is $35 for those wanting to play basketball and $45 for those wanting to cheer. You can register in person at the Salem Community Center@The Armory or online through the Salem Park and Recreation Facebook Page. Practices will begin in December and games will start in January. The Kansas City Royals have officially hired former Tampa Bay Rays bench coach Matt Quatraro as their new manager. Quatraro is the Royals’ 18th full-time manager in franchise history. The hire came after the club parted ways with former manager Mike Matheny and pitching coach Cal Eldred following a 65-97 2022 season.
