The Salem Baseball Tigers lost to Union Tuesday, 4-2 to finish the regular season 9-11. Salem will face the 3rd seeded St. James Tigers starting at about 2:00 this Saturday in Class 4, District 9 play from Sullivan on KSMO and online at ksmoradio.com. The game can also be seen on Fidelity Local 6. The cost of admission is $5.00 for anyone six years of age and above.

A Senior Citizens’ Trout Fishing Tournament will be held tomorrow, May 10th at Montauk State Park. This trout tournament will be open to any man or woman who is 60 years of age or older. Two classes will be designated, fly or bait. Two prizes will be awarded to winners in each class for heaviest trout, and heaviest stringer of trout. Gift certificates will be presented to the winners upon completion of the tournament. People who are interested in participating can register at the Dorman L. Steelman Lodge. The Minnesota Twins swept the St. Louis Cardinals in a two game series, winning Tuesday 7-1 for their fifth straight win. The Cardinals will be off today as they head to the West Coast to face San Diego Thursday night at 8:15 to start a four game series with the Padres. The Red Birds have lost two straight games.

Dylan Bundy set a dubious modern-day record, yielding four homers and leaving without getting an out, part of a 10-run first inning that propelled the Kansas City Royals past the hapless Baltimore Orioles 15-7 Tuesday night. Jon Jay started the onslaught with a leadoff single before Jorge Soler, Mike Moustakas and Salvador Perez homered in succession. Two walks and a home run by Alex Gordon followed, ending Bundy’s night after just 28 pitches. Moustakas finished with three hits, two homers and five RBIs to help KC reach season highs in runs and hits (20). Gordon had four hits and three RBIs, and Soler also drove in three runs. Dan Duffy (1-4) allowed one run and six hits over 5 1/3 innings. The Royals be in Baltimore again tonight.
