The Salem R-80 High School Coaches from all sports voted and this year they awarded the Salem Lady Tiger Award to Bella Jadwin and the Salem Tiger Boys Award to Garrett Connell. Congratulations Bella and Garrett!!!!!

The New York Mets beat the St. Louis Cardinals in the first game of their double header Tuesday, 3-1. Paul Goldschmidt’s homer was the only run the Cards could muster. In the second game, Tyler O’Neill’s infield single drove in the game winning run in the 9th inning and allowed the Cardinals to beat the Mets, 4-3 and split the doubleheader. The Cards and Mets play this evening in the third game of the four-game series starting at 5:15 on KSMO Radio.

Jose Abreu’s two-run double led the Chicago White Sox to a 3-0 win over the Kansas City Royals in the first game of their double-header Tuesday. In the second game, Brady Singer pitched masterfully for seven innings giving up just four hits and MJ Melendez hit his first major league homer as Kansas City beat Chicago, 2-1. The Royals and White Sox play tonight in the fourth game of the five-game series at Kaufmann Stadium.

Josh Manson’s first playoff goal in overtime led the Colorado Avalanche to a 3-2 win over the St. Louis Blues Tuesday night in Denver. Jordan Kyrou and Ryan O’Reilly scored for St. Louis and Jordan Binnington stopped 51 of 54 Colorado shots in the loss. The Blues and Avalanche play Game 2 Thursday night at 8:00 on KSMO Radio.
