An 8-0 run to start the third quarter helped propel the Bunker Eagles to the State Quarterfinals as they defeated the Billings Wildcats at Cabool Tuesday night, 64-49. Brennen Meloy scored 18 points to lead the Eagles followed by Jayton Skaggs who added 15 more, and Chetan Calzado who contributed ten points. Owen Sanders dominated the boards hauling down 13 rebounds. The Eagles only trailed once in the game, 15-14 in the first quarter, but Payden Lanham’s 3-pointer seconds after falling behind gave the Eagles the lead back and they never relinquished it. The Eagles will play Cooter Saturday afternoon at 1:00 at the Van Buren High School Gym. Cooter beat Leopold Tuesday night, 54-45 , to reach the quarterfinal. The admission to the game will be $10 for those who are six years old or above.

The Salem Boys Basketball Tigers will play St. Clair Thursday night at 7:00 at Cuba in the Class 4, District 3 Tournament. St. Clair beat Cuba Tuesday night, 61-47 to advance in the tournament. That game will be video streamed on MSHSAA.tv and will be audio broadcast on KSMO Media including KSMO Radio, KSMO Stream Facebook Page and the KSMO YouTube Page.

Layla Taylor of Bunker R-3 School District shot in the Mountain Grove Bullseye Archery Tournament this past weekend, Saturday, February 28th, receiving a personal best score of 291. She finished 1 out of 8 in 12th grade; 1 out of 28 in high school; and 1 out of 95 overall. Layla now sits 9th in the state and 71st in national rankings.  

The Mizzou Tigers fell to the Oklahoma Sooners last night 80-64. The Tigers are now 20-10 on the year and 10-7 in conference play. They’ll finish up the regular season Saturday morning at 11:00 in Mizzou Arena against the Razorbacks.
