The Salem Baseball Tigers game with Licking Tuesday was postponed due to rain. No makeup date has been set. The Tigers have changed the starting time for their Thursday game against Potosi. Instead of stating at 4:30, the teams will play a doubleheader beginning at 11:00 Thursday morning with another game at about 2:30, weather permitting. Due to Thursday being Major League Baseball’s opening day, KSMO Radio will not be able to carry the Salem games as the Cardinals will play in New York.

The Salem Track Teams meet at the Cuba High School Tuesday was postponed due to rain. The Track Tigers next meet will be on Tuesday, April 3rd at Mountain View-Liberty beginning at 4:00. Salem last Thursday in their Open at the high school took second in the girls’ meet and third in the boys’ event. St. James came in 1st place in both the boys and girls events.

The Salem Golf Open at the Spring Creek Golf Club was postponed due to rain. No makeup date has been established.

Vladimir Tarasenko’s second goal of the game in overtime gave the St. Louis Blues a 3-2 win over the San Jose Sharks Tuesday night. Oskar Sundqvist also scored for the Blues who will be in Las Vegas Friday night starting at 9:00. You can hear the game on KSMO Radio.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. homered with two outs in the ninth inning to lift the Toronto Blue Jays over the St. Louis Cardinals 1-0 Tuesday night. St. Louis will open the regular season Thursday in New York against the Mets starting at 11:15 on KSMO Radio.

The City of Salem Parks and Recreation Department is currently holding signups for their Youth Baseball and Softball Leagues. The cost is $25 per child for all boys and girls age 14 and under.
