The St. Louis Cardinals were in Chicago last night playing the White Sox in the first game of a three game series. The White Sox were able to get on the board right away with a run in the first but the Cardinals responded in the top of the second with a five run inning off the bats of Pedro Pagés, Brendan Donovan, Mayson Winn, and Iván Herrera. The score would remain 5-1, until the top of the fifth when Willson Contreras stole home. In the seventh Alec Burleson hit a home run extending the Cardinal lead to 9-2. The Kansas City Royals played the Texas Rangers last night and immediately batted in three runs off a Maikel Garcia single, and a Salvador Perez home run. Garcia would homer again in the sixth after a Bobby Witt Jr. home run in the fifth. The Royals went on to win the game, 6-1 off of 8 hits while holding the Rangers to 5 hits on the night. Kansas City is only three wins away from getting back to .500. Tonight’s game starts at 7:05.
