The St. Louis Cardinals and Toronto Blue Jays played game two of three last night. Early on the Blue Jays jumped out in front with four runs scored. Then Nolan Gorman responded, hitting a three run home run and tying the game at four. That wouldn’t be his only home run on the night as he would knock it out of the park once again for two runs in the eighth keeping the Cards in the game, trailing by two. The Blue Jays again moved out in front with four runs, when again a Cardinal home run, this time from Willson Contreras, would get the Cards within one run to tie but an Alec Burleson groundout concluded the game as St. Louis fell again in the series, 10-9. You can listen to the final game live this afternoon on KSMO Radio 1340 AM & 95.7 FM with pregame coverage set to begin at 12:20 and first pitch at 1:15.
The Kansas City Royals and New York Yankees played their first game of three last night and outside of a Jonathan India home run in the bottom of the sixth there wasn’t much to write home about for the Royals as the fell 10-2. Kansas City will look to bounce back in game two tonight with first pitch at 6:40.
