Jose Martinez hit a fifth inning home run that proved to be the difference as the St. Louis Cardinals beat the Pittsburgh Pirates Tuesday, 4-3. Paul Goldschmidt hit a two run homer for the Cards who have won three straight games. The Cards and Pirates face each other again tonight at 5:10 on KSMO.

Alex Gordon and Lucas Duda hit home runs and the Kansas City Royals rallied for three runs in the 8th inning, then held on in the 9th inning to beat the Atlanta Braves Tuesday, 5-4. The Royals and Braves play again tonight in Atlanta.
