Ashton Bowers scored 23 points as the Salem Lady Tigers got their first win of the year, 55-25 over the Lady Jays of Viburnum. Salem is now 1-3 on the season. The Salem Lady Tigers will be in the Sullivan Tournament next week.

The Salem Boys Basketball Tigers ended their four-game losing streak with an 82-22 domination of the Viburnum Blue Jays Tuesday night. Bryson May scored 16 points followed by Gunnar Konkel with 14 in the win. Salem is 2-4 on the year and the Tigers will be at St. James Friday night with a freshman game at 4:30 followed by the JV game. The varsity game will begin around 6:50.

Noel Acciari scored two goals as the St. Louis Blues ended their four-game losing streak beat the New York Islanders Tuesday, 7-4. The Blues will host the Winnipeg Jets Thursday at 6:30 on KSMO Radio.

St. Louis Cardinals first baseman Paul Goldschmidt was named to the All-MLB All Star First team for the 2022 year to round out his magical season. Cardinal’s third baseman Nolan Arenado and pitcher Ryan Helsley were named to the All-MLB All Star Second team.
