The Salem Boys Basketball Tigers beat the Waynesville Tigers Tuesday night, 40-39, as the Salem defense stood tall late and protected a one-point lead for over two minutes. The Tigers were led in scoring by Brody Ray with 12 points with Braiden Gapsch adding 11 more including the eventual game-winning 3-pointer. Salem is 2-2 on the year and will play at St. James Friday night at 7:00 in a game you can hear on KSMO Radio.
The Salem Boys JV couldn’t recover from an 18-point deficit near half time falling just short to the Waynesville Tigers Tuesday night, 51-49. The JV is 3-1 on the year and they will play at St. James Friday night at 5:30 at the high school gym.
The Salem Boys Freshman Tigers will play at St. James Friday afternoon at 5:30 at the St. James Middle School Gym.
The Salem Varsity Lady Tigers evened their record at 1-1 with a 43-9 win over the Bourbon Lady Warhawks Tuesday night. They will back in action Thursday night at 6:00 when they face Plato in a varsity only match at the Salem High School gym. The game can be heard on KSMO Radio (1340 AM and 95.7 FM) and video streamed on KSMO Media.
The St. Louis Blues played the Vancouver Canucks last night. Zack Bolduc, Robert Thomas, and Jordan Kyrou would all contribute goals in regulation but the Canucks kept pace and forced overtime. Dylan Holloway scored the final goal of the contest giving the Blues a win over the Canucks, 4-3. The Blues play the San Jose Sharks tomorrow night at 7:00 in St. Louis.
