The Salem Boys Basketball Tigers could not hold a first quarter lead and fell to the Lebanon Yellowjackets Tuesday, 60-46. Haiden Sanders scored 12 points to lead Salem who fell to 0-3 on the year. The Salem JV also lost at Lebanon, 71-39. At Belle, the Salem freshman team fell by the score of 48-39. All three teams will be at Owensville Friday starting at 5:00.

The Salem Boys Basketball Tigers and Willow Springs 7th and 8th grade games scheduled for December 7th have been postponed.

The Salem Lady Basketball Tigers are seeded 1st in the Norwood Tournament that will be held next week. Salem will face Rush Athletics at 6:00 Monday night.

Ryan O’Reilly’s shootout goal gave the St. Louis Blues a 4-3 comeback win over the Tampa Bay Lightning Tuesday night. O’Reilly, Logan Brown and Ivan Barbashev scored for St. Louis after trailing 3-0 in the 1st period. The Blues will be at Tampa Bay tomorrow night to face the Lightning at 5:30 on KSMO Radio.

The St. Louis Cardinals announced they have agreed to terms with free-agent left-handed pitcher Steven Matz on a four-year contract. The 30-year-old Matz finished 2nd among American League pitchers in wins (14) last season, his first as a member of the Toronto Blue Jays. The 6-0, 200-pound southpaw made 29 starts in 2021, totaling 150.2 innings pitched while going 14-7 with a 3.82 ERA.
