The Salem Tigers committed three errors in the first inning and the St. Clair Bulldogs scored five runs en route to a 6-0 shutout win over Salem. Salem is 3-6 on the year and will host Potosi in a make-up game today at 4:30 this afternoon. You can hear the game on ksmoradio.com beginning at 4:15 with Tiger Talk. KSMO will broadcast the game once the St. Louis Cardinal and Chicago Cubs game is over.

The Salem Tiger Tennis Team defeated Houston, 5-4 to move to 6-1 on the year. They will be in West Plains this morning at 9:00 to play in their tournament.

Adam Wainwright went five strong innings, Matt Carpenter drove in three runs and Paul Dejong homered to help the St. Louis Cardinals beat the Chicago Cubs in frigid conditions, 5-3 on Tuesday night for their fifth consecutive victory. The Cards and Cubs will play this afternoon starting at 12:25 on KSMO Radio.

Yangervis Solarte homered and drove in four runs, Randal Grichuk also went deep and the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Kansas City Royals 11-3 Tuesday in the first game of a double-header. In the second game, Luke Maile’s RBI single drove in Kevin Pillar in the bottom of the 10th inning to earn sweep of the twin bill. The Royals are now 3-12 on the year. The Royals will be at Toronto this afternoon.

Time is running out to sign up your youngster 14 and under for the City of Salem Parks and Recreation Department’s Youth Baseball, T-Ball and Softball Leagues.
