The Salem FFA has released results from their recent South Central District competitions in Career Development Events (CDE) and Leadership Development Events (LDE). Konner Headrick place 1st in FFA Creed Speaking and Maggie Hogan was 1st in Advanced Public Speaking. Both Headrick and Hogan will compete in their respective LDE’s during the State FFA Convention April 24th. The CDE results included 2nd Place Ag Sales Team of Dalli Johnson, Grant Case, Jessi Mast and James Heithold, 2nd Place Entomology Team of Makena Faulkner, Neva Trosper, Kaylynn Sites and Charlee Duncan. The Food Science Team of Bea Hovey, Abbi Terrill and Dalli Johnson placed 3rd, the Forestry Team of 

Grant Case, James Heithold, and Zoe Cochran placed 6th, and the Poultry Team of Jessi Mast, Dylan Parker, Tayla Schafer, and Alex Lowe place 6th. The Ag Sales, Entomology, Food Science, Forestry, and Poultry teams all qualified for State Competition in Columbia April 24th and 25th. Grant Case, Kacy Chapman, and Torri Schafer will be receiving their State FFA Degrees during the Convention. Competing for State Proficiency Award Honors will be Dalli Johnson in Poultry Production, Grant Case in Wildlife Management and Saylor VanWyk in Ag Mechanics Repair and Design. Alaina Norris led the Lady Tigers with three RBIs on two hits as the Salem Lady Tigers Softball team defeated the Licking Lady Wildcats yesterday by a score of 15-10.

The Salem Tiger Boys Tennis team went on the road to defeat the Willow Springs Bears 7-2.

The Salem Tiger Boys Golf team will be at the St. James Tournament today.

The Salem Tiger Baseball team is traveling to Willow Springs today to take on the Bears. The varsity game is set to begin at 4:30 and you can listen to this game live on KSMO 1340 AM & 95.7 FM and audio streaming on KSMO Media.

The St. Louis Blues finished the regular season with a dominant victory over the Utah Hockey Club, 6-1. Brayden Schenn, Pavel Buchnevich, Jimmy Snuggerud, and Zack Bulduc all pick up goals in the first and Jordan Kyrou scored a pair in the third. In this final game, the Blues have clinched a playoff spot.

The St. Louis Cardinals were shut out by the Houston Astros 2-0. They’ll play again this afternoon live on KSMO Radio with coverage to start at 11:20.

The Kansas City Royals fell to the New York Yankees 4-2, they face off again tonight at 6:05.
