The St. Louis Cardinals played the New York Yankees over the holiday weekend, losing on Friday 6-3, and winning a close one on Saturday, 6-5. But Sunday’s game would prove historic as the recently called up right fielder Jordan Walker stole the show with an incredible performance going 5 for 5 with a home run, three RBI’s, and four runs, as well as a stolen base for good measure. The Yankees haven’t seen a player put up those kinds of stats against them in nearly 100 years. The Red Birds would go on to win, 14-7. Yesterday St. Louis started a new series versus the Milwaukee Brewers, losing 9-3. Game two of the three game series begins this evening at 6:45 with pregame starting at 5:50. The Kansas City Royals were swept by the Houston Astros over their four game series. Yesterday they played the AL Central leading Cleveland Guardians and lost 4-2. This marks a six game slide by the Royals that they hope to break this evening versus Cleveland beginning at 6:40.
