The Salem Lady Volleyball Tigers were in Bunker Monday night and defeated the Lady Eagles in two straight games: 25-23 and 25-18. The JV Lady Tigers also won in two straight games by the scores of 25-18 and 25-11. Salem is 6-10-1 on the year and they will play in the Licking Tournament on Saturday.

The Salem Lady Softball Tigers doubled up the Lady Bulldogs of St. Clair by the score of 6-3. Rebekah Kirker went 3-4 in the game while Trista Heavin, Megan Roos, Nina Howard and Alyssa Bowers each had two hits. Salem is 12-6 on the year and they will be at Union Thursday.

Jon Lester pitched six solid innings Monday night, and Kris Bryant and Javier Baez each bashed home runs as the Chicago Cubs routed the St. Louis Cardinals 10-2 at Busch Stadium. The Cards and Cubs will play again tonight at 6:20 on KSMO Radio.

Aaron Judge tied Mark McGwire’s rookie record for homers in the third inning and broke the mark in the seventh as the New York Yankees beat the Kansas City Royals 11-3 during a makeup game Monday afternoon. Salvador Perez hit a two-run homer and Mike Moustakas extended his team record with his 38th homer for the Royals. The Detroit Tigers will be in Kansas City tonight.
