Los Angeles rookie goalie Calvin Peterson earned his first NHL shutout and rookie forward Matt Luff scored his first goal, leading the Kings to a 2-0 victory over the St. Louis Blues on Monday night.

Jordan Geist scored 18 of his season-high 21 points in the second half, and the Missouri Tigers used a late run to pull away from Oregon State 69-63 Sunday in the semifinals of the Paradise Jam tournament. Kevin Puryear added 17 points for the Tigers (3-1), who advanced to Monday night's championship game at the University of the Virgin Islands Sports and Fitness Center.

Jared Goff threw a 40-yard touchdown pass to Gerald Everett for the go-ahead score with 1:49 to play, and the Los Angeles Rams outlasted the Kansas City Chiefs for a 54-51 victory on Monday night in a high-octane NFL offensive showdown that somehow surpassed the hype.
