The Salem Park and Recreation Department is offering Youth Basketball and Cheer signups for those boys and girls in the 1st through 6th grades. Registration will be held now through this Wednesday and the charge is $35 for those wanting to play basketball and $45 for those wanting to cheer. You can register in person at the Salem Community Center@The Armory or online through the Salem Park and Recreation Facebook Page. Practices will begin in December and games will start in January. A late fee of an additional $10 will be charged for those wanting to sign up after November 16th.

The Salem Basketball Program’s “Blue and White Night” is tonight at the Salem High School Gym. Admission is a bottle of water or Powerade. The night will feature a chili supper starting at 5:00 where you can get a bowl of chili, bag of cookies and a bottle of water for $5.00, all to support the basketball programs. The night will be full of basketball starting at 5:00 with a middle school boys scrimmage followed at 5:30 by the middle school girls’ scrimmage. At 6:00, the Salem 4th grade boys will scrimmage followed at 6:20 by the 5th grade boys’ scrimmage. At 6:40, the Salem 3rd grade girls will scrimmage followed by the 5th grade girls’ scrimmage at 7:00. Around 7:30, the Salem varsity and JV Lady Tigers will scrimmage followed at 8:00 by the Salem Boys varsity and JV Tigers scrimmage.

The Missouri Basketball Tigers will host the SIU Edwardsville Cougars tonight and you can hear the game on KSMO at 6:30. Missouri enters the game with a 3-0 record.

Jordan Kyrou’s 3rd period goal power play goal proved to be the winner as St. Louis held off the Colorado Avalanche Monday night in Denver, 3-2 for their third straight win. The Blues will be in Chicago Wednesday night at 6:00 on KSMO.
