In District Baseball Monday, Jordan Shults slugged a two-out, three-run homer in the 5th inning, Reese Dodson went 3-4 with two runs scored and Boone Schrader pitched a complete game as the Salem Tigers beat the 2nd seeded St. James Tigers, 5-4. Salem also got RBI singles by Noah Leathers and Baylor Petty in the 3rd inning. St. James scored four runs in the 6th inning and had the tying run at 3rd base in the 7th inning, but Lyndon Carson grounded out to end the game. Salem will face the Marshfield Blue Jays who beat the Eldon Mustangs, 10-0 in six innings. The game will be played at the Salem High School Baseball Field Complex and there is a $5.00 entry fee that will be charged for all persons age six and up.

The St. Louis Cardinals will start a three game series tonight in Atlanta starting at 6:20 or right after the Salem Tiger Baseball District Championship game on KSMO Radio.

The Kansas City Royals will host the Texas Rangers tonight in the opener of their three game series.

Robert Bortuzzo’s 2nd period goal proved to the difference as the St. Louis Blues beat San Jose, 4-2. Jaden Schwartz, Oskar Sundqvist and Vince Dunn all scored for the Blues. The St. Louis Blues and San Jose Sharks will play Game 3 best-of-seven Western Division Conference Final Wednesday on ksmoradio.com.
