The Salem Lady Basketball Lady Tigers dominated the Houston Tigers from the start of the game Monday night at the SHS Gym, outscoring Houston in the 2nd quarter alone, 24-5 enroute to a 70-42 win to begin SCA Conference play. Salem hit nine 3-pointers in the game and was led in scoring by Savannah Manthey with 24 points followed by Ashton Bowers with 22 points. Avery Erway netted 13 more points and pulled down 7 rebounds and had four steals. Salem will now play in the Stover Tournament where they are seeded 2nd. They begin play tonight at 6:00 against Dixon at the Stover High School Gym. The winner will play Thursday at 7:30 at the Stover Dome while the loser will play Thursday at 7:30 at the high school gym. Salem is 5-8 overall and 1-0 in the SCA Conference.

KSMO Media will be video streaming with play-by-play the Bunker and South Iron Girls and Boys Basketball contests today from the Bunker High School Gym. The girls’ game will be at 5:00 with the boys’ varsity game to follow. There is no charge to stream the games on your electronic device.

St. Louis Blues will go back on the road and will be in Toronto to start a four-game road trip tonight at 5:30 on KSMO Radio.

St. Louis Blues announced the team has placed forwards Ryan O’Reilly and Vladimir Tarasenko on injured reserve. O’Reilly broke his foot blocking a shot against Minnesota and Tarasenko broke a thumb also blocking a shot against the Wild. O’Reilly will be re-evaluated in six weeks, while Tarasenko will be re-evaluated in four weeks. Also, the Blues recalled forward Jake Neighbours and Nikita Alexandrov from its AHL affiliate, the Springfield Thunderbirds.

The Missouri Basketball Tigers, who are now nationally ranked 20Th, will play Arkansas Wednesday night. Missouri is goes to 12-1 overall and 1-0 in the SEC Conference. That game can be heard on KSMO Radio.

The Healthy Dent County Fitness Center is offering a free new 30-minute class beginning this Saturday morning called X-Press Class. The class starts at 9:00 and will be held in the exercise classroom and will be taught by Nicole Lemieux, a certified OPEX Coach every Saturday in January. The workouts are based on the AMRAP program which means “as many rounds as possible” and is geared for strength and cardio. For more information, call 739-1127.
