The Salem Varsity Basketball Tigers beat Waynesville in the opening round of the St. James Tournament Monday night, 53-50. Eli Wofford and Gavin Sapaugh each scored 14 points to lead the Tigers while Braiden Gapsch added 11 more for Salem. It was the 6th win in their last seven games and 8th win out of the last ten contests. Salem improves to 11-5 on the year and they will play Blair Oaks Thursday night at 6:30 at St. James in the winner’s bracket.
Friday night, the Salem JV Basketball Tigers came back from a 20-16 halftime deficit against Ava, outscoring the Bears in the second half, 36-18, and winning the contest, 52-38. Salem improves to 7-4 on the year. The JV will be off this week and participate in the Licking JV Tournament starting Monday against Iberia.
The Salem Freshmen Basketball Tigers will be at Waynesville tonight at 5:30. The Freshmen enter the game with a 6-3 record.
The Missouri Basketball Tigers take on the Georgia Bulldogs tonight in SEC Conference play. Missouri is 13-5 on the year and 3-2 in SEC Conference play, while Georgia is 15-3 on the year and they are also 3-2 in the conference. You can hear the game tonight at 7:30 on KSMO.
The St. Louis Blues will be in Winnipeg tonight on a delayed broadcast on KSMO Radio following the Mizzou Tigers game.
