The Salem Lady Basketball Tigers defeated the Mountain Grove Lady Panthers in the 1st round of the Mountain Grove Christmas Tournament by the score of 52-48. Salem is now 3-6 on the season and they will play Mansfield tonight at 7:30 at Mountain Grove.

The Salem Boys Basketball Tigers lost to Summersville in the 1st round of the Cabool Holiday Invitational Tournament Monday night by the score of 63-51. Salem falls to 2-8 on the season and they will play Viola, Arkansas this afternoon at 1:30 at Cabool.

The Missouri Tigers went on a 22-2 run late in the first half and totally dominated the Fighting Illini Thursday night at the Enterprise Center, beating Illinois, 93-71. Kobe Brown led all scorers with 31 points followed by D’Moi Hodge with 20 and DeAndre Gholston added 15 more points. Missouri is now 12-1 and will play Kentucky on Wednesday at 5:30 on KSMO.

Behind a stellar performance from Sam Hartman in his final game as the quarterback for Wake Forest where he completed 23 of 36 passes for 280 yards and three TDs; plus a rock-solid showing from the defense, Wake Forest defeated Missouri 27-17 in the 2022 Gasparilla Bowl. Missouri finished the season with a 6-7 record.

Last Friday night, the Vegas Golden Knights tied the game late in the 3rd period on a power play goal and won it in the shootout on a goal by Mark Stone to beta the St. Louis Blues, 5-4. The Blues received goals by Noel Acciari, Pavel Buchnevich, Vladimir Tarasenko and Justin Faulk. The Blues will host Toronto tonight at 6:30 on KSMO Radio.

Patrick Mahomes III threw for two touchdowns and rushed for another as the Kansas City Chiefs cruised past Seattle Saturday afternoon, 24-10 to improve to 12-3 on the year and will play Denver on New Year’s Day
