Paul DeJong handed the Washington Nationals a second straight walk-off loss, capping a back-and-forth finish with a game-ending solo homer in the ninth inning of the St. Louis Cardinals’ 7-6 victory Monday night. Matt Carpenter and Jedd Gyorko also homered for St. Louis who have now won seven straight games. The Cardinals and the Nationals will play again tonight at 6:20 on KSMO Radio.
Ryan O’Hearn homered and drove in a career-high three runs, Brad Keller threw seven strong innings and the Kansas City Royals beat the Toronto Blue Jays 3-1 on Monday night to spoil Sean Reid-Foley’s major league debut. The Royals and Blue Jays tangle again this evening at Kaufmann Stadium.
