The Salem Baseball Tigers and Mountain Grove Panthers battled for eight innings before the Panthers edged the Tigers, 8-7. Salem never led in the game but tied the game four times. Korben Barred was 2-3 with two RBI and Baylor Petty went 3 for 5 as Salem falls to 5-10 on the year and 3-1 in the SCA Conference. The Tigers are scheduled to be at St. Clair this afternoon at 4:30, weather permitting. If played, you can hear the game on KSMO and on ksmoradio.com.

The Salem Golf Team will be at Houston to face the Houston High School at 4:00 this afternoon, weather permitting.

The City of Salem Park and Recreation Department wants to remind people the city park pavilions are reserved on a first come, first serve basis. Pavilion #1 with the fireplace is rented for $45 and Pavilion #2 is $35 for the day. Rentals must be paid in full to save the date. Call 729-8163 for information.

The St. Louis Cardinals banged out five homers and Jack Flaherty earned his 3rd win of the year as the Red Birds beat Washington, 12-5. Paul DeJong hit a solo homer and a grand slam in the game finishing with five RBI while Tommy Edman, Paul Goldschmidt and Justin Williams all homered. The Cards will play the Nationals again tonight at 5:10 on KSMO Radio.

Pitcher Danny Duffy recorded his 1,000th career strikeout as a Royal making him the 6th pitcher in Royals’ history to do so, but Tampa Bay beat Kansas City Monday night by the score of 4-1. The Royals and the Rays will play again tonight at Kaufmann Stadium.

The St. Louis Blues game with Colorado tonight has been cancelled due to a COVID-19 outbreak on the Avalanche. The Blues are scheduled to play Colorado Thursday night at 7:00 with the pre-game show at 6:30 on KSMO Radio.
