On Tuesday, the Salem Lady Volleyball Tigers Beat Eminence in four games. They won the first game, 25-12, lost the second game, 16-25, then won 25-22 and 25-21 to take the match. Salem will play West Plains next Monday night.

The Salem Lady Softball Tigers will host Vienna this afternoon at 5:00 at the Salem City Park. Salem enters the game with a 1-0 record while Vienna is 3-0. The Salem Cross Country Tigers will be in Willow Springs today to participate in the Steve Waggoner Invitational today starting at 4:00.

At the Baseball Hall of Fame Wednesday, former Cardinals catcher Ted Simmons and outfielder Larry Walker were honored by being inducted in the highest honor a major league player can attain. Simmons played 13 years with the “Birds on the Bat” on his uniform and will go into the hall as a Cardinal. Walker, who only played two years as a Cardinal, will go into the hall as a Colorado Rockie.

Tyler O’Neill’s 8th inning homer proved to be the difference as St. Louis beat the LA Dodgers, 5-4 as Adam Wainwright pitched 8 1/3 innings to get his 15th win. Yadier Molina had a two-run homer in the 1st inning. The Cards and Dodgers play this afternoon at 11:20 on KSMO Radio.

The Baltimore Orioles scored nine runs in the bottom of the 8th inning to come from a 5-0 deficit to beat the Kansas City Royals, 9-8. The Royals play the Orioles again tonight at Camden Yards.
