The Salem Lady Tiger Volleyball teams will be in action tonight at the Salem High School Gymnasium against the Ava Lady Bears. The Freshman game will get the evening started at 5:00 with the JV and Varsity games to follow. The Salem Tiger Cross Country Teams will be in Steelville today for the Steelville Invitational meet.

The Middle School Salem Tiger Football teams will be kicking off their games against the Mountain Grove Panthers tonight at Bill Schuchart Stadium. The 7th grade team will start at 5:30 with 8th grade team to follow.

The St. Louis Cardinals hosted the final game of a three game series against the Cincinnati Reds yesterday afternoon and fell 6-2. Alec Burleson hit a homer early and Ivan Herrera batted in Lars Nootbaar in the sixth to account for the two Cardinals runs. The Cardinals have the day off today before holding their last home series against the Brewers.

Salvador Perez hit a three run home run in the first to get the Kansas City Royals and Seattle Mariners game started last night. Later in the seventh the Mariners tied the game up at three and scored an additional run in the top of the seventh. Adam Frazier hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh and the Royals tacked on two more runs before finishing out the game with a 7-5 victory. With the series tied up at one they’ll play again this afternoon to finish the series. The first pitch will cross home plate at 1:10.
