The City of Salem Youth Basketball signups for children in grades 1 through 6 is going on now at the Salem Community Center@The Armory at 1200 West Rolla Road. The cost is $25 per player through this Friday and will go to $35 if you signup your child next week, November 4th through the 8th. Forms have been sent home with children from school, but if you don’t have one, you can pick up the form at the Healthy Dent County office. Most games will be played at the Salem High School Gym. Teams for the 1st and 2nd graders will be co-ed. Games will be played starting December 7th and finishing up on the 28th.

The Salem Tiger District Football Game against Osage this Friday night at 7:00 will have an admission price of $5.00 for those who are six years of age and above as set by MSHSAA.

Alex Petrangelo scored early in the 3rd period and Jordan Binnington stopped 35 of 36 shots as the St. Louis Blues beat the Minnesota Wild Wednesday night, 2-1. Sammy Blais also scored for the Blues who will play the Columbus Blue Jackets Friday night with a delayed broadcast at 9:15 on KSMO Radio. They will then play Saturday night at Minnesota starting at 6:30.

Howie Kendrick’s two-run homer in the 7th inning put the Washington Nationals ahead 3-2 en route to a 6-2 win over Houston in Game 7 of the World Series. It was the Nationals franchise first World Series title ever.
