Nolan Arenado and Paul Goldschmidt were joined by San Diego Padres star third baseman Manny Machado as finalists for the Baseball Writers’ Association of America National League Most Valuable Player Award. Brendan Donovan, who became the first Cardinals rookie to win a Gold Glove, was also named a finalist for the National League Rookie of the Year Award.
The St. Louis Cardinals have acquired minor league infielder Jose FermÃn from the Cleveland Guardians for cash considerations and selected his contract to the 40-player roster.
