The Salem Baseball Tigers doubleheader with Potosi scheduled to start at 11:00 this morning has been postponed due to wet grounds. No makeup date has been set for the games. The makeup date for the Owensville game rained out Monday has been set for April 24th at 4:30 in Salem. Salem next game will be Monday against the Thayer Bobcats stating at 4:30.

The Salem Tiger Tennis Team is scheduled to be in Willow Springs today at 4:00, while the Salem Tiger Golf Team is scheduled to be at Mountain Grove today at 4:00. Both matches will be held weather permitting.

St. Louis Cardinals will open the regular season today against the New York Mets at Citi Park starting at 11:15 with the pre-game show on KSMO. The Cardinals will start Carlos Martinez on the mound and he will face the Mets ace, Noah Syndergaard. The Cardinals finished this year’s spring training season with a 17-13-3 record.

The Kansas City Royals will host the Chicago White Sox today at 3:15 in their opening day game. The Royals will send Danny Duffy if he is healthy to the hill to face former Royals’ pitcher James Shields for Chicago. The Royals finished the spring training with a 16-13-2 record.

The City of Salem Parks and Recreation Department is currently holding signups for their Youth Baseball and Softball Leagues. The cost is $25 per child for all boys and girls age 14 and under.
