The St. Louis Cardinals bounced back against the Texas Rangers yesterday and avoided the series sweep by a score of 5-3. Alec Burleson brought home three runs in the first three innings with a one-run single and two-run double. Thomas Saggese tripled in the fifth and brought home José Fermín while Nelson Velázquez rounded out the Red Bird scoring with a sharp line drive to right field that allowed Jordan Walker to cross home plate for the final run of the game. The Cardinals are off today before they host the Cincinnati Reds this Friday evening.
