The 17-4 Mizzou Tigers were in Tennessee last night for a matchup versus the 18–4 Volunteers. Early on, the Tigers were able to quiet the crowd and assert themselves to a 34-28 first half advantage. After halftime, the Volunteers battled back and after scoring 28 points in the first half, they more than doubled their scoring output, racking up 57 points in the second half. Mizzou also improved their second half scoring by 13, but it wouldn’t be enough to keep pace as they fell, 85-81. The stat sheet revealed the Volunteers had a higher percentage in scoring free throws, three pointers, and field goals. The leading scorer for the Tigers was Tamar Bates with 22 points on the night. Mizzou’s next game is this Saturday afternoon versus the currently tenth ranked Texas A&M Aggies. You can listen to this game live on KSMO Radio with pregame at 2:00 and tip off at 2:30.
