The Salem Lady Basketball Tigers will play Mansfield tonight at 7:30 in the Norwood Scallywag Tournament. Salem enters the game as the #2 seed and are 3-0 on the year. Mansfield was seeded 3rd in the Tournament. If Salem wins, they will play Saturday night in the championship game. Should the Lady Tigers lose, they would play in the 3rd place game at 5:30 Saturday night.

The St. Louis Cardinals announced that they have completed a trade with the Arizona Diamondbacks, acquiring six-time National League All-Star first baseman Paul Goldschmidt in exchange for catcher Carson Kelly, right-handed pitcher Luke Weaver, minor league infielder Andy Young and the Cardinals Compensation Round B selection in the 2019 Major League Baseball amateur draft. The right-handed hitting Goldschmidt batted .290 in 2018 with 33 home runs and 83 RBI, finishing 6th in National League MVP voting.

Connor McDavid scored in the shootout after Oscar Klefbom tied it late in the third period, and the Edmonton Oilers beat the St. Louis Blues 3-2 on Wednesday night. The Blues will be back in action Friday night when they will be in Winnipeg to face the Jets starting after Salem Tiger Basketball on KSMO with a delayed start.
