Josie Bowers smacked two doubles and drove in five runs to help lead the Salem Lady Softball Tigers to a 17-0 win over Dixon Tuesday night in three innings. Bowers also scored three runs while Alaina Norris and Jaelyn Chartier each had two hits including a double and two RBI’s for the Lady Tigers. Madison Mercer gave up just one hit in three innings of work to get the win over Dixon. Salem improves to 5-4 overall and they are 0-2 in the SCA Conference. They will be at Cabool today starting at 4:30 in an SCA Conference game against the Lady Bulldogs.
The Salem Baseball Tigers will travel to Houston to face the Tigers in an SCA Conference matchup. Salem enters the game with a 3-5 record overall and 0-1 in the SCA Conference, while the Houston Tigers are 6-4 on the year and 2-0 in the SCA Conference. The Salem Tigers Golf Team will host the Salem Invitation today starting at 9:00 this morning at the Spring Creek Golf Club.
The Salem Middle School Track and Field Teams will be at Mountain Grove today for a meet that begins at 4:00.
Alec Burleson went 3-4 with three RBI, and Jordan Walker hit another home run as the St. Louis Cardinals beat Washington Wednesday, 6-1, to win the series, two games to one. Yohel Pozo also drove in two runs with the single as Michael McGreevy earned his first win of the year going six innings and giving up a run. The Cardinals went 3-3 on the road trip and after a day off today, they will begin a three-game series with Boston starting Friday night.
