The Salem Boys Baseball Tigers will play Willow Springs today at 4:30 in Salem on KSMO Media. Stream the game on ksmoradio.com, our KSMO Stream Facebook page or the KSMO YouTube page. Salem is 3-4 on the year.
The Salem Lady Softball will host Thayer this afternoon at the Salem City Park starting at 4:30. Salem enters the game with a 4-2 record and 1-0 in the SCA Conference.
The Salem Tiger Tennis Team took 2nd place in the Salem Invitational Wednesday. Mountain Grove won the tournament. Logan Hubbs and Gunnar Konkel placed first in doubles, and Layton Southards placed second in singles.
The Salem Golf team will host the Salem Invitational this morning at 9:00.
The City of Salem Park and Recreation Department will hold signups for their summer baseball, softball and T-Ball leagues for children 14 years of age and under from now until April 8th at the Salem Community Center@The Armory. The cost per player is $25. Forms are at the Salem Community Center@The Armory or download the teamsnap link off the Salem Park and Recreation Facebook page to register online. Late registration will be from April 9th through the 18th for $35 per player. Remember the City of Salem does accept major credit cards. Adam Wainwright will be on the mound for the St. Louis Cardinals today as Major League Baseball opens the 2022 season. It is the 6th time Wainwright will start on opening day in his career. The pre-game show can be heard on KSMO AM 1340 and FM 95.7 starting at 1:40. Game time will be around 3:15.
The Kansas City Royals will also open their season today when they host the Cleveland Guardians at 3:10 at Kaufmann Stadium. Zack Greinke will toe the rubber for the Royals as the Opening Day starter for the second time as a Royal and the sixth time in his career.
The St. Louis Blues beat Seattle Wednesday, 4-1 for their third straight win. The Blues will play Minnesota Friday night at 6:30 on KSMO Radio.
