The Salem Tiger Tennis Team defeated Willow Springs, six matches to 3 on Tuesday and blanked Mountain View-Liberty Wednesday, 9-0 at the Salem City Park Tennis Court. The Tigers host Licking today at 4:00. The match will be at the Salem City Park Tennis Courts.

The Salem Baseball Tigers will host the Ava Bears in SCA Conference play today. Salem is 2-3 on the year and 1-1 in the SCA. The game will get underway at 4:30 and you can hear it on KSMO Radio and online at ksmoradio.com.

The Salem Golf Team will be at Ava this morning for a match starting at 10:00.

Late signups are being accepted for the City of Salem Parks and Recreation Department’s Youth Baseball, T-Ball and Softball Leagues through Friday, April 20th. The cost is now $35 per child for all boys and girls age 14 and under. You can sign up your child at the Salem Community Center@The Armory during regular business hours from 8:00 in the morning until 4:30 in the afternoon. Matt Albers got his first save for Milwaukee, retiring Kolten Wong and Dexter Fowler to strand a pair of runners, and the Brewers beat the St. Louis Cardinals, 3-2 on Wednesday. Tommy Pham homered for the Cardinals and Adam Wainwright (0-2) allowed three runs and eight hits in seven innings. Michael Wacha takes the mound tonight as the Cards will be in Cincinnati to start a four game series. The game will be joined in progress right after Salem Tiger Baseball on KSMO Radio.

Kyle Seager hit a go-ahead homer with two outs in the eighth inning, and the Seattle Mariners held on to beat the Kansas City Royals, 4-2. Danny Duffy allowed four hits and three walks but also struck out seven in 5 1/3 innings pitched. Paulo Orlando’s two-out double drove in both Royals runs. Ian Kennedy tries to build on a solid start to the season as the Royals will host the LA Angels in a four game series starting tonight at Kaufmann Stadium.
