The Salem Baseball Tigers will host the Mountain Grove Thursday afternoon at 4:30 at the SHS Field. Salem enters the game with a 3-6 record and 2-0 in the SCA. The Salem Tiger Golf Team will participate in an SCA Practice open at the Spring Creek Golf Club this morning at 10:00.

The Salem High School Tiger Track Teams will participate in the West Plains Invitational at 2:30 this afternoon.

The Salem Tigers Tennis Team lost to Willow Springs on Tuesday, seven matches to two. The Tennis Tigers will be at Licking today at 4:00 and will host Waynesville tomorrow at 4:00.

The Salem 5K Fun Run/Walk returns this Saturday to the Salem Community Center@The Armory. The event starts at 8:00 in the morning and is sponsored by the Salem Running Club, the Salem Memorial District Hospital, Healthy Dent County and the Dent County Health Center. There is no charge to attend and the event is open to everyone. You can walk, skip, run, anything just as long as you are moving. Yadier Molina slugged a three-run homer and had four RBI on the night, Marcel Ozuna smashed a two-run shot and Paul DeJong had three hits as the St. Louis Cardinals toppled the LA Dodgers Wednesday night, 7-2. Jack Flaherty worked six innings to get his first win of the year. The Cards and Dodgers have an afternoon game today starting at 11:45 this morning on KSMO.

The Cardinals announced Wednesday that Matt Carpenter has agreed to a two-year contract extension that includes a vesting option for 2022. The deal replaces a 2020 option Carpenter had as part of a six-year, $52 million contract due to expire at the end of this season.

Mitch Haniger’s two-out solo home run in the 9th inning for Seattle Wednesday led them to a 6-5 win over Kansas City sending them to their 9th straight loss. The Royals and Mariners will play this afternoon at Kaufmann Stadium.

Tyler Bozak scored the game-winner with 2:05 left in regulation time after David Perron scored early in the third to help the St. Louis Blues rally to defeat the Winnipeg Jets by the score of 2-1 Wednesday night. Jordan Binnington made 24 saves to help lead the Blues to a 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. The Blues will face Winnipeg in Game 2 Friday night starting at 8:00 on KSMO Radio.
