Rylin Dickson scored three touchdowns and Tyson Tidwell added two more as the Ava Bears scored 35 first half points and beat Salem Friday night, 38-0. Salem is 0-5 for the season and fall to 0-3 in the SCA Conference. They will travel to Willow Springs Friday night to face the Bears.

The Salem Lady Volleyball Tigers will host St. Clair tonight at 5:00 in non-conference play at the SHS Gym. Salem is 10-4 on the year and 2-0 in the SCA Conference. The Salem Tiger JV Football team will host Ava this evening at 6:00. The JV Tigers are 1-2 on the year

The Salem Tigers Cross Country team finished second at the Belle Cross Country Meet on Thursday. They will compete in St. James on Wednesday.

The Missouri Football Tigers, who missed a field goal at the end of regulation and fumbled going into the end zone in overtime which would have been a game-winning touchdown, lost to Auburn Saturday afternoon 17-14. They are now 2-2 for the season. Mizzou will host Georgia Saturday.

Friday night, Albert Pujols hit career homers 699 and 700 to become just the 4th major league player to be in the 700-home run club. The Cards beat the Los Angeles Dodgers that night, 11-0, but lost 6-2 on Saturday and 4-1 Sunday. The Cards are off today and will travel to Milwaukee to face the Brewers on Tuesday.

The Kansas City Royals were down 11-2 in the 6th inning when they scored 11 runs to come back and beat Seattle Sunday, 13-12 in the final home game of the year. The Royals took two of three games from Seattle this weekend. Kansas City is off today and will travel to Detroit to face the Tigers on Tuesday.

An unsportsmanlike penalty to Chiefs defensive lineman Chris Jones after a quarterback sack that would have forced Indianapolis to punt gave them a second chance late in the 4th quarter and they came back to beat Kansas City Sunday, 20-17. The Chiefs are 2-1 and will play Tampa Bay Sunday night.

The St. Louis Blues preseason started Saturday with a win over the Arizona Coyotes 5-4. The Blues will face the Dallas Stars in preseason play tonight.
