The Salem Lady Volleyball Tigers went undefeated in the Cabool Invitational Volleyball Tournament on Saturday and won the Tournament Championship by defeating Houston, Thayer, Plato and Licking. Salem improves to 6-4 on the year and they will host the Houston Wildcats Tuesday. Congratulations to Coach Barnes and the Lady Tigers!!!

Rowan Spencer scored two first half touchdowns on runs of 47 and 54 yards to help the Thayer Bobcats secure their first win this season, 28-6 over the Salem Tigers Friday night. He finished with 124 yards on four carries. Salem’s lone touchdown came on a 28-yard pass from Kaiden Dubois to Wyatt Campbell in the 3rd quarter. The Tigers fall to 0-4 on the year and will host the Ava Bears Friday night at 7:00.

The JV Football game scheduled for today at Thayer has been cancelled due to transportation issues and possible player shortages. The cancellation was mutually agreed upon by both schools.

The St. Louis Cardinals were shutout Sunday on two hits by Cincinnati pitching, 3-0 but won the series, three games to two as they swept the doubleheader on Saturday, 5-1 and 1-0 in 11 innings. St. Louis is off today and will be in San Diego Tuesday night starting at 7:45 on KSMO.

After shutting out Boston Saturday on six hits, 9-0, Kansas City Royals pitching gave up 20 hits Sunday as Boston returned the favor to Kansas City in a 13-3 rout. Salvador Perez hit his 22nd homer of the year in the loss. The Royals will be off today and host Minnesota Tuesday night.

Luther Burden returned a punt for a touchdown and Brady Cook threw three TD passes as Missouri beat Abilene Christian Saturday 34-17. Missouri is now 2-1 on the year and they will play Auburn in an SEC matchup Saturday.
